Hello, can you believe it is already October? I already see homes with Halloween decorations up and people getting started on their Christmas shopping. I know that I sure enjoy it and on this website you have thousands at your fingertips (or should I say mouse clicks). There are plans of every style, from log cabin to modern and sizes that range from 320 square feet to over 22,000 square feet. A wealth of layout ideas and floor plan design can be found throughout the site. Of course if you’d like to build they sell full blueprint plans for a very reasonable cost., but I just like looking at the designs and dreaming up my own ideas. Hello and welcome to the third week of September. Thoughts of Fall are moving in as are the first thoughts of Halloween. The site has a wealth of information regarding selling your home regardless of where you live with common sense articles on presentation, common mistakes to avoid and other tips. My favorite sections are their before and after photos for both interior and exterior, and their suggestions on presenting an empty house. The latter features virtual property styling which lets you populate photos of an empty house with stylish decor to prompt a buyers imagination. Hello and welcome to beginning of September. The weather has turned cooler suddenly and thoughts have moved to the Fall. I was able to finish cleaning off my garage shelves this week and it has made an amazing difference. I also had time to redo things in my media room. The old carpet is gone replaced by some flooring paint and area rugs. It is now a much better look and feel for the room, especially since my son has basically taken over the space.
This week our featured website is Key Interiors by Lisa Stanley. Key Interiors focus on four types of interior design: model home merchandising, residential interior design, light commercial and new home construction. Based in Perkasie, PA Key Interiors has a fresh style that captures the essence of the living space. Now on to this week’s special: From now until the end of September we are featuring 20% off Good Night Irene polymer clay switch plates. Good Night Irene! is a one-woman studio in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. She’s been working with polymer clay since 1992, and started creating light switch plates almost immediately. Irene is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild and a founding member and past president of the Blue Ridge Polymer Clay Guild. She’s also authored and produced work for three books on polymer clay, published by Lark Books, and has contributed projects to numerous other publications.

Hello and welcome to end of August. School is back in season and the temperature has started to cool off. It has really been great weather to finish up all of those outdoor projects that I was putting off due to the heat of Summer. On the list later today is cleaning up the shelves in the garage.
This week our featured website is the site for McHale Landscape Design Inc. They are a landscape / hardscape design company based in Maryland. They focus on four primary areas landscaping, masonry, carpentry and maintenance, the last being important to make sure their plans are continually implemented properly. My favorite part of their website is their photo gallery which highlights about 100 projects which they have completed. Overall the site could use some design and layout work, but I find their photo gallery to be very useful when thinking of design ideas. (Know of a website we should feature on this blog? Hello and welcome to the the second week of August and is it ever hot. I really feel like I should be doing more outdoor projects, but I really don’t feel like being outside too long. Oh well, there are plenty of projects to do indoors. Actually, I really need to work on my office where I write this blog. I think it’s the only room in the house that we never took the time to decorate and I spend more time in here than any other room. It’s functional, but doesn’t really feel good. Time for a complete redo in the next few weeks.
This week our featured website is the site for Barbara Hawthorne Interiors. Barbara is an interior designer who specializes in residential and commercial spaces in the Mid-Atlantic region. The website shows off an amazing portfolio with great photographs of past projects. All portfolio areas are broken up into traditional, transitional and modern design styles which each give you a sense of what is possible. Hello and welcome to the first week of August. School will be starting back up soon and for a lot of people that means getting the home organized for the start of a new school year. It’s also a great time to redecorate your children’s rooms and home work spaces. This magazine is based here in Dayton Ohio and also has issues printed for Cincinnati, Columbus, Pittsburgh & Tampa Bay. The website and print version both feature a plethora of design and remodeling tips and ideas for every area in your home. Now on to this week’s special: This week has been the start of 15% 
off a A la Mode decorative switch plates. A la Mode features unique urban, hip designs that are a blend of mod, retro, whimsical and funky. Each switch plate is individually decoupaged by hand in Rhode Island and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
