Hello and welcome to the third week of September. Thoughts of Fall are moving in as are the first thoughts of Halloween. This week our featured website is Property Presenters from Queensland Australia. The site has a wealth of information regarding selling your home regardless of where you live with common sense articles on presentation, common mistakes to avoid and other tips. My favorite sections are their before and after photos for both interior and exterior, and their suggestions on presenting an empty house. The latter features virtual property styling which lets you populate photos of an empty house with stylish decor to prompt a buyers imagination. For something really unique check out her abstract people switch plates line. Good Night Irene! is a one-woman studio in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. She’s been working with polymer clay since 1992, and started creating light switch plates almost immediately. Irene is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild and a founding member and past president of the Blue Ridge Polymer Clay Guild. She’s also authored and produced work for three books on polymer clay, published by Lark Books, and has contributed projects to numerous other publications.

Hello and welcome to beginning of September. The weather has turned cooler suddenly and thoughts have moved to the Fall. I was able to finish cleaning off my garage shelves this week and it has made an amazing difference. I also had time to redo things in my media room. The old carpet is gone replaced by some flooring paint and area rugs. It is now a much better look and feel for the room, especially since my son has basically taken over the space.
This week our featured website is Key Interiors by Lisa Stanley. Key Interiors focus on four types of interior design: model home merchandising, residential interior design, light commercial and new home construction. Based in Perkasie, PA Key Interiors has a fresh style that captures the essence of the living space. We are now into the final week of July and I have not updated this blog since the end of June. Sorry for the absence but I was in Turkey for a few weeks and then out of town again so the blog just didn’t happen.
I saw a lot of amazing things on my trip but one of the most inspiring was the Library at Ephesus from 74 AD. Seeing such a unique building that was almost two thousand years old was beyond belief. Of course the whole city of Ephesus just blew me away with how much was still preserved and the intricate details everywhere.
This week our featured website is the Turkish architecture firm Emre Arolat Architects. The site itself is very well 
designed with a lot of white space and minimal clutter. This is really appreciated when you get to their section on works and the whole page centers on the clear, crisp photos of their projects.  It is the first week of February and winter has finally hit us with our first decent snowfall. I always like the look of freshly fallen snow. It gives everything such a nice, new clean look.

Well, 2010 is now in full swing and I’m looking at the many projects I want to get done around the house. Always a great time to go out looking for inspiration, and I found a great blog this week 
relating to design and decor called Vamp Decor. It features all manner of furniture and architectural design elements. The suite isn’t very old, but I love the ideas they have posted and see it as a great place to get some good ideas.

 Fern Leaves - Copper Switch Plate Fern Leaves – Copper Switch Plate – Polymer Clay on Plastic
Individually made by hand in a one-woman studio in Asheville, North Carolina.
Bring a little bit of nature into your home! Real leaves are used to texture polymer clay, which is then applied to a standard plastic switch plate. After curing, the polymer clay is antiqued with permanent copper acrylic paint to highlight the detail in the texture. These will fit any standard construction; mounting screws are included and painted to match.

I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving, at least those of you here in the states. I’m starting to see people putting up their Holiday decorations and I’m getting ready to do that as well tomorrow. While you’re in the mood for Winter and the Holidays take a look at our Winter / Christmas Switch Plates, there are over fifty styles to choose from. Whether you like snowmen, Santa or just winter scenes you’re sure to find something that you like.
In this week’s list we have a few artists who haven’t shown up before, Muscle Car Accessories and Cowboy Decor. They both have very different feels from most of our other switch plates, but really fit perfectly into the right style of decor.
