Hello and welcome to our first post for May, we have quite a few things going on this month which I will touch on in a minute. I’d like to thank everybody for making our two year anniversary sale successful. This month we are featuring 35% off all Mercury Mosaics ceramic switch plates. These have been discontinued so they are in limited supply. We even have a few of the last remaining stock of round ceramic switch plates. We are also in the midst of adding a new artist, Metallum Creations, out of Tucson Arizona. They make amazing decorative hardware out of steel such as wall light sconces, key racks, single coat hooks, door bells and switch plates in 15 amazing airbrushed colors. There are also some new outdoor products coming really soon.
This week’s feature website is LikeCool – The Coolest Gadget Magazine. This site is a barrage of cool things from furniture, to videos to posters to cars and everything else that is like cool. It is pretty bare bones, with most just having a picture and a title. However you can pick up some great ideas and many will spur you on to research more about whatever cool object strikes your fancy. A few items do actually include prices and a link of where you can get them, but mainly they are a great way of viewing many items in a short span of time.

Hello and welcome to our latest post for April, many of the flowers are blooming as well as allergies. I’ve finally started to catch up on getting my yard in order and start on some of those projects I’ve been waiting all Winter to do. the big question is will I actually have enough time to do them all?

Licensed artwork featuring Vincent Van Gogh’s famous painting Starry Night. The work was created in 1889 while he was in the asylum at Saint-Remy, in fulfillment of a previously expressed wish to paint a night sky from memory. He wrote that he wanted it to be “a kind of painting giving greater consolation.”
This decoupage switch plate includes nearly the entire image from the painting on the double and triple width switchplates, and the central half on the single width. It is mounted on a standard switchplate, then sealed to prevent scratching or water damage and packaged in a transparent gift bag. Made in Southern California.

Hello and welcome to the first week of March. With today’s weather it definitely feels like Spring is on it’s way. I’m starting to categorize all of the projects around our house and the new warehouse space.
One thing we’re trying this year is to look at one room each week and see what little changes and minor fixes we can make to it without spending too much money. We started with the master bathroom and have been taking care of all those nagging little problems that just keep getting put off. We’ve also started changing small bits of decor, like the heat vent, that just didn’t match the rest of the room. (We had a white heat vent while all of the other hardware in the room is wrought iron.) The little bits of change have cost us under $100, but the difference has been amazing. We’re going to try and carry this on through the whole house taking on one room over the course of one to two weeks. Next week I’ll get some before and after shots.
This week we are featuring one of my favorite online furniture stores, Art Van Furniture from Michigan. They are a chain, but only have stores in one state so I just look at them online. One of the most useful features of their site is their Room Planner. You can use this tool to draw a custom sized room and then use their icons to see how you’d like to lay things out. You can even save and print your rooms. It’s a great idea planner and is helpful even if you aren’t in the market for new furniture.

Hi and welcome to the end of February. The past few weeks have been really big for us. We just moved into our new place at the Front Street Arts Complex and have been getting everything arranged. We have over twice as much space now and are surrounded by artists of all types: potters, sculpters, wood workers, painters, photographers, printers, etc. We’re really looking forward to being a part of this community.
This week we feature a great blog Apartment Therapy with the apt subtitle – “Saving the World, One Room at a Time”. My favorite feature is the home tours section where homeowners send in pictures and a walk through of their home and then receive comments and suggestions from other readers. A fun community and a great place to pick up ideas regardless of your style. Beware you can easly blow through a few hours on this site before you realize it.

I hope everybody is enjoying the snow this week, because there seems to be no way of escaping it. From what I heard all 50 states 
had some snow on the ground this week. This week we travel to Shepperton, Middlesex England to look at a great home interior decorating / remodeling website I came across called Concept Interior. They focus on kitchens and bathrooms, but feature a full range of options for your whole home. they also have an excellent photo galley of past projects. Their tendency is toward open, airy, modern looking designs that blend in with the adjoining rooms to create a natural flow.

Hello and welcome to the last posting of January. Winter and all of the cold is now upon us and it’s a great time to stay inside. This week I have a site to share from a home remodeler in Minneapolis who specializes in basements 
and bath remodeling: Jeffrey Grosscup. The site itself primary lets the designs speak for themselves. With great photography of the wide open and well lit rooms it’s hard not to feel inspired by his designs. There are some great before and after shots of some projects which show just how dramatic the changes have been.

Well, 2010 is now in full swing and I’m looking at the many projects I want to get done around the house. Always a great time to go out looking for inspiration, and I found a great blog this week 
relating to design and decor called Vamp Decor. It features all manner of furniture and architectural design elements. The suite isn’t very old, but I love the ideas they have posted and see it as a great place to get some good ideas.

 Fern Leaves - Copper Switch Plate Fern Leaves – Copper Switch Plate – Polymer Clay on Plastic
Individually made by hand in a one-woman studio in Asheville, North Carolina.
Bring a little bit of nature into your home! Real leaves are used to texture polymer clay, which is then applied to a standard plastic switch plate. After curing, the polymer clay is antiqued with permanent copper acrylic paint to highlight the detail in the texture. These will fit any standard construction; mounting screws are included and painted to match.
