 It is the first week of February and winter has finally hit us with our first decent snowfall. I always like the look of freshly fallen snow. It gives everything such a nice, new clean look.
This is the view off our deck this morning. I see a snowball fight and snowman in my future…along with shoveling the driveway. |

Hello and welcome to the last posting of January. Winter and all of the cold is now upon us and it’s a great time to stay inside. This week I have a site to share from a home remodeler in Minneapolis who specializes in basements 
and bath remodeling: Jeffrey Grosscup. The site itself primary lets the designs speak for themselves. With great photography of the wide open and well lit rooms it’s hard not to feel inspired by his designs. There are some great before and after shots of some projects which show just how dramatic the changes have been.

Well, 2010 is now in full swing and I’m looking at the many projects I want to get done around the house. Always a great time to go out looking for inspiration, and I found a great blog this week 
relating to design and decor called Vamp Decor. It features all manner of furniture and architectural design elements. The suite isn’t very old, but I love the ideas they have posted and see it as a great place to get some good ideas.
Now onto our top ten list of the week. This week our list of top ten decorative hardware items is again topped by mirrored glass switch plates, however many new products have made their first appearance ever including some of the polymer clay switch plates by Good Night Irene!

This week is Christmas for those of you who celebrate the Holiday. Hopefully you are able to spend some time with your family and friends this week. This morning we just had our first snow of the year and everything is covered with a nice clean layer of white. I always love the look of a fresh layer of snow. There’s not enough to go sledding, but maybe later this week.

I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving, at least those of you here in the states. I’m starting to see people putting up their Holiday decorations and I’m getting ready to do that as well tomorrow. While you’re in the mood for Winter and the Holidays take a look at our Winter / Christmas Switch Plates, there are over fifty styles to choose from. In this week’s list we have a few artists who haven’t shown up before, Muscle Car Accessories and Cowboy Decor. They both have very different feels from most of our other switch plates, but really fit perfectly into the right style of decor.
